Firefox — WIP

Firefox is, in my opinion, the most secure browser. (or at least it can be)

Some may argue “It’s not as fast as chrome” but I believe it can be faster if you configure it correctly.

First thing’s first: I’ll start this tutorial off by showing you how to properly secure Firefox.(this includes removing ads and making you much harder to track on the internet)
THEN I’ll move on to making it a bit faster and more efficient. (this involves making it behave more like chrome in the ways it handles HTTP traffic)

But before the first thing, there’s something you need to do: remove all of your silly toolbars & ad-ons. You don’t need a yahoo toolbar, a Bing toolbar, and a dozen others to surf the net. The search field supplied with Firefox is more than customizable enough and the URL bar will even run searches in a pinch. These toolbars slow down your computer and take up screen space. Some of them even track your history on the internet!

If you don’t know how to remove them, don’t worry, just be careful. It’s easy: go to your Control Panel, and underneath where it says “Programs”(should be the fourth icon down on the left) you should see a link for “Uninstall a program”. Each of your toolbars should show up here along with all other programs installed on your computer. You can remove one by clicking on it and then clicking on “Uninstall/change” in the upper left corner of the window. Just make sure you only kill off your toolbars. I will not be held responsible if you uninstall something important. Like your sound drivers or your DVD burning software.

Also, if you haven’t already: download Firefox.

Ok, now that’s out of the way, back to the first thing:
