I am one of TN State’s highly-caffeinated IT monkeys. As part of my job, I fix a lot of things that other people break, and oversee about 150 windows servers (ranging from 2003 to 2012R2 Enterprise) and around 10 RedHat Enterprise Linux servers.
I’m also the SharePoint administrator, the TFS Admin, the IQ (Intranet Quarum, from Lockheed Martin) Admin, the dynaTrace Admin, Google Appliance Admin, and IT security consultant.
I also write & debug code in C++, C#.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Java, Pearl, Python, bash, PowerShell, SQL, REGEX, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc…
I wear a LOT of hats in my current position, and most of the time I’m wearing more than one. This is great because it lets me learn about a lot of different things and keeps me from getting bored, but also terrible because I never get to specialize in the things that truly interest me.
My main goals in employment right now are to find a job that:
- Lets me work from home nearly full-time. (My wife & I dream of traveling the states in our RV & a normal job ties us down geographically.)
- Lets me focus more on security & white-hat hacking. (Penetration testing)
